Imran Khan’s legal team has raised concerns over delays in the availability of crucial legal documents required for his appeal process, according to his lawyer Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry.
Speaking outside Adiala Jail, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry stated that he had visited the facility for the third time to obtain signatures on legal documents, but after nearly three hours of waiting, jail authorities informed him that the relevant paperwork was not available in official records.
According to the lawyer, the documents in question were sent to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail via TCS on April 7, and online tracking records show they were received by jail authorities on April 9 at 3:13 PM.
He further said that the unavailability of these legal documents and the resulting delay are directly affecting the timeline for filing Imran Khan’s appeal. If the situation continues, he warned, the appeal may not be filed within the stipulated period, potentially impacting the legal process.
Chaudhry emphasized that the delay is also affecting Imran Khan’s right to access timely justice, raising concerns about procedural fairness and due process.
