Former Prime Minister Imran Khan is being held in such extreme solitary confinement that he is reportedly unable to distinguish between day and night.
The claim has sparked concern among party members and human rights observers regarding the conditions of his detention.
In a related discussion, journalist Imran Riaz Khan, who has previously experienced solitary confinement, shared his own account. He explained that during his detention, he relied on the early morning (Fajr) call to prayer to determine the time of day.
According to him, the phrase “As-salatu khayrun min an-nawm” (“prayer is better than sleep”), which is included in the Fajr call to prayer, helped him recognize that a new day had begun.
These remarks were cited by Asadullah Khan while drawing parallels between past detention experiences and the current situation.
