PTI Europe Human Rights Committee Raises Imran Khan’s Detention in European Parliament

Brussels: The PTI Europe Human Rights Committee has brought the detention and health concerns of former Prime Minister Imran Khan to the attention of the European Parliament, highlighting alleged human rights violations related to inadequate medical care.

According to the committee, the Citizens’ Enquiries Unit of the European Parliament acknowledged receipt of their concerns and confirmed that the human rights situation in Pakistan remains under observation. Greek Member of the European Parliament Emmanouil Fragkos has formally submitted a parliamentary question calling for proof of life, access to family members and legal counsel for Imran Khan, and a review of Pakistan’s GSP+ trade status in light of human rights obligations.

PTI Europe representatives say they will continue engaging with Members of the European Parliament to push for concrete measures beyond acknowledgment, as international attention on Imran Khan’s detention and medical condition grows.
