Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) late at night, where a medical procedure was conducted without prior notification to his family and in the absence of his personal doctors.
The incident has intensified concerns over transparency and proper medical supervision. Reports indicate that Imran Khan is suffering from Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO) and has reportedly lost approximately 85% of the vision in his right eye. Bypassing his personal doctors during the procedure raises serious questions about the adequacy and safety of his treatment.
The demand for treatment at Al-Shifa International Hospital had previously been made by the family, citing the need for specialized care in a reputable tertiary facility. Imran Khan has also reportedly stated that access to his personal doctors must be granted to ensure proper examination and treatment.
