Serious concerns have emerged following reports by multiple journalists and media outlets claiming that former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan was taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) late at night for alleged eye treatment and returned to Adiala Jail after approximately three hours.
According to these reports, the transfer was carried out quietly and without prior information being provided to Imran Khan’s family or legal team. The lack of official confirmation or detailed explanation has raised questions about transparency and the nature of the medical care reportedly provided.
Family members and supporters have expressed deep concern, stating that if the reports are accurate, the incident reflects a troubling lack of accountability. They have questioned why neither Imran Khan’s family nor his lawyers were informed, what medical condition necessitated the transfer, and under whose authority the decision was made.
“This silence is alarming,” Noreen Khan sister of Imran Khan said “Imran Khan is not an ordinary prisoner. He is a national political leader, and his health is a matter of public concern. Any ambiguity surrounding his medical treatment only fuels fear and mistrust.”
Calls are growing for authorities to immediately arrange a meeting between Imran Khan, his family, personal physicians, and legal counsel. There are also demands for the release of complete and verified medical reports to clarify the circumstances of the hospital visit.
