Rawalpindi: The Toshakhana case, which was scheduled for trial at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, has been postponed for the umpteenth time. The case was scheduled for a hearing at Adiala Jail on November 27, but it was cancelled at the last minute.
This is not the first time that the case has been delayed. The last hearing took place on October 16 at Adiala Jail, and after the final arguments, the case was set for reply and rejoinder by the prosecution. However, a lengthy date was given until October 29, 2025, and on that date, the case was postponed without any proceedings for one month, until November 27, 2025.
Today, once again, instead of a jail trial, the hearing has been postponed without any proceedings at the Islamabad Judicial Complex for another month, until December 20.
This is yet another example of the delays and inefficiencies in our justice system. The Toshakhana case is just one of many cases that have been delayed for years, without any progress or resolution.
The people of Pakistan have the right to justice, and it is the responsibility of the judiciary to ensure that justice is served in a timely and efficient manner. The continued delays in the Toshakhana case are a reflection of the failures of our justice system.
