In a troubling development, severe human rights violations and political repression targeting former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sisters and supporters occurred on 18th November 2025. Despite having legal permission, police forces attacked and harassed Imran Khan’s sisters, as well as other political workers and leaders waiting outside the jail to meet him. Eyewitnesses describe police dragging and intimidating these women, raising serious concerns about the use of excessive force and abuse of power.
Imran Khan has been in solitary confinement, with reports indicating that his basic human rights including access to legal counsel and communication are being systematically denied. General Asim Munir, who recently obtained immunity through an illegitimate government, is deeply fearful, with even a message from Imran Khan via his family causing him distress.
Opposition parties have condemned these actions, calling them clear violations of democratic norms and legal rights. Critics warn that such suppression undermines the rule of law and threatens to destabilize the country further.
