Lawyer Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry has toldthat he was denied access to complete legal formalities related to an appeal in the Al-Qadir Trust case involving Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi.
According to his statement, Chaudhry said he arrived outside Adiala Jail at around 10:30 AM to obtain signatures on necessary legal documents, including the power of attorney, required to file an appeal in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The appeal challenges the disposal of bail petitions without a decision and the direct fixation of the case for hearing.
He claimed that despite waiting at the jail gate for several hours, authorities did not facilitate the signing of documents and continued to delay the process. He further stated that similar delays had previously occurred in a related matter pending before the Islamabad High Court, where a petition regarding medical grounds and legal documentation remains under hearing.
Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry told that jail authorities neither allowed signatures on legal papers nor accepted the documents, thereby hindering the process of approaching the Supreme Court.
He also pointed out that despite clear court orders, no personal hearing or directives were issued regarding visitation and medical requests filed on behalf of Bushra Bibi.
The lawyer described the situation as a denial of timely access to justice and effective legal representation, calling it a violation of constitutional and legal rights.
