Former Prime Minister Imran Khan spent Eid-ul-Adha in Adiala Jail without meeting family members or speaking to his children by phone, according to jail sources.
Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, remained in their respective cells during the Eid holidays and were not permitted to meet each other. No family members were reported to have met Imran Khan on the occasion.
According to the sources, Eid clothes were not delivered to Imran Khan before Eid-ul-Adha. A similar situation was reported during Eid-ul-Fitr earlier this year. In contrast, Eid clothing for Bushra Bibi was delivered last Friday after being brought by her two daughters during a scheduled visit to Adiala Jail. The clothing was inspected by jail authorities and provided to her in accordance with jail regulations.
Imran Khan was unable to speak with his sons by telephone on Eid-ul-Adha. During Eid-ul-Fitr, he had been allowed to speak with them under court directives.
Since December 2 of last year, no family member has reportedly met Imran Khan. Jail authorities maintain that he is being provided facilities in accordance with the jail manual and relevant court orders.
