Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court challenging her brother’s solitary confinement in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.
The petition, submitted under Article 199 of the Constitution through Barrister Salman Safdar and a team of advocates, seeks to have the confinement declared illegal and unconstitutional.
It contends that the incommunicado detention of Imran Khan lacks lawful authority and constitutes a violation of fundamental rights guaranteed under the 1973 Constitution. The plea urges the court to intervene and provide immediate relief in accordance with constitutional protections.
