Imran Khan Meets Lawyer After Four Months Amid Concerns Over Solitary Confinement

Imran Khan was finally granted access to his legal counsel after four months, following compliance by Adiala Jail authorities with orders from the Islamabad High Court.

According to Barrister Salman Safdar, the meeting took place at 3 PM and lasted approximately 60 minutes. During the session, Imran Khan was briefed in detail on all ongoing legal matters, including the Al-Qadir Trust case. He reportedly issued clear instructions, emphasizing the importance of arguing bail applications and seeking decisions on merit.

However, concerns were raised as Bushra Bibi was not brought from her cell to attend the attorney-client meeting, despite prior requests and court orders.

Barrister Salman Safdar stated that Imran Khan appeared to be in good health, high spirits, and mentally strong. However, he noted that an eye condition persists, with significant impairment and only slight improvement so far. Further medical treatment is expected within two weeks.

The lawyer told that both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are being held in near 24-hour solitary confinement under harsh conditions, with no access to books, television, family members, or legal representatives.

The development has once again raised serious concerns regarding prison conditions, access to legal counsel, and compliance with court directives.
