Serious concerns have been raised after Imran Khan was denied access to his legal counsel at Adiala Jail.
An application submitted by Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudry states that despite multiple visits on March 27 and April 2, he was not allowed to meet his client or obtain signatures on the power of attorney. The application alleges that jail authorities deliberately used delaying tactics to block legal proceedings.
According to the plea, the denial of access has prevented Imran Khan from completing essential legal documentation required to file an appeal in the Supreme Court, raising serious concerns about obstruction of justice.
The application further claims that jail officials, including the Superintendent, are in violation of constitutional rights, legal procedures, and jail rules by restricting access and withholding documents. It warns that continued delays could impact the legal timeline for filing appeals, effectively limiting Imran Khan’s ability to seek relief through the courts.
Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudry has called for immediate intervention, demanding that access be granted without delay and that all necessary legal formalities be facilitated.
The development has intensified concerns among legal observers regarding due process and the fundamental right to legal representation.
