Pakistan’s Human Rights Situation to Be Raised at UN Council Session in Geneva

At the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, scheduled in approximately 36 hours, Pakistan’s human rights situation is set to come under scrutiny.

Speakers Kasim Khan Imran Khan son and Sayed Z. Bukhari will address the widening gap between Pakistan’s international treaty commitments and the realities on the ground. Their remarks will highlight concerns over governance, rule of law, and adherence to human rights obligations.

The discussion will also highlight the case of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, particularly his arbitrary detention and mistreatment.
