Yalda Hakim has raised questions over delays in granting visas to the sons of Imran Khan, saying that earlier assurances from senior Pakistani officials that they would be able to visit their father have yet to materialize.
In a statement, Hakim said that Sulaiman Khan and Kasim Khan are still waiting for visas to travel to Pakistan to see their father. According to her, senior officials had previously indicated that the brothers would be free to visit, but weeks later the promise has not been fulfilled.
Hakim questioned the delay, asking why the assurance made publicly has not been honored. The issue has drawn attention as the former prime minister remains in custody and his family continues to seek permission for the sons to travel to Pakistan and meet him.
The visa delay comes amid growing scrutiny from international observers and media over access to the jailed leader and the ability of family members to visit him.
