Over 40 Global Scholars Demand Medical Access for Imran Khan

More than 40 leading global scholars, public intellectuals, elected officials, and human rights advocates have issued an urgent international letter demanding immediate medical access for former Prime Minister Imran Khan and an end to what they describe as his arbitrary detention.

Among those endorsing the letter are Naledi Pandor, John L. Esposito, Yanis Varoufakis, Noura Erakat, Omid Safi, Yasir Qadhi, Roger Waters, Vijay Prashad, Nader Hashemi, Craig Mokhiber, Motasem Dalloul, Katie Halper, Nidal Jboor, Medea Benjamin, Ashok Swain, Turgay Evren, Richard Falk, Ilan Pappé, Sana Saeed, Assal Rad, Tamara Sonn, Chandra Muzaffar, Junaid Ahmad, and Saud Anwar, along with many other prominent members of international civil society.

The letter reflects growing international concern regarding Khan’s health, legal rights, and the broader state of democratic governance and human rights.
