Concerns over the health of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan have intensified after his sons revealed that they are being denied visas to travel to Pakistan to see him.
Imran Khan has spent 914 days in detention, much of it in solitary confinement, during which his health has reportedly deteriorated. Imran Khan has been denied access to independent medical care, raising serious human rights concerns.
In a statement, Khan’s sons said they are attempting to travel to Pakistan to visit their father but claim that the Government is deliberately refusing to process their visa applications. They described the denial of medical treatment as cruel and called the refusal to allow family visits a form of collective punishment.
The family has urged international human rights organizations to intervene and speak out, warning that failure to act could lead to irreversible harm to Khan’s health.
