Aleema Khan has strongly criticized authorities following reports that former Prime Minister Imran Khan was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in the middle of the night for what was described as a second eye injection.
In her statement, Aleema Khan questioned why the family was not informed prior to the medical procedure, stating that the law requires authorities to notify family members before conducting any treatment on a prisoner.
She further said the family does not trust the diagnosis or medical reports issued by government facilities. Referring to unverified reports allegedly emerging from PIMS, she claimed that doctors are being warned against disclosing any information regarding Imran Khan’s condition. “What are they hiding?” she asked.
Aleema Khan stated that the family rejects any medical reports issued without the supervision of Imran Khan’s personal physicians and in the absence of family members. She reiterated their demand that he be examined and treated at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad by specialists, under the supervision of his own doctors and in the presence of his family.
She also expressed concerns about whether PIMS is adequately equipped to treat the reported eye condition and accused the government of misconduct, warning that authorities would be held accountable for any violations committed in connection with Imran Khan’s treatment.
The statement adds to growing controversy surrounding the former prime minister’s medical care and detention conditions.
