Islamabad High Court to Hear Petition on Ban of Imran Khan`s X Account on January 21

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed January 21 for hearing a petition seeking a ban on the X (formerly Twitter) account of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.

The case will be heard by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir on a petition filed by Ghulam Murtaza Khan. The court’s registrar office has issued the official cause list, scheduling the matter for hearing on the said date.

The PTI founder has not yet submitted a reply in the case. During the previous hearing, his counsel Salman Akram Raja had sought an adjournment due to the Pakistan Bar Council elections, which was granted by the court.

In compliance with earlier court orders, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail submitted a written response regarding the operation of the Imran Khan`s X account. In his reply, the jail superintendent categorically denied that the account is being operated from inside the prison.

Advocate Barrister Zafarullah will represent the petitioner, Ghulam Murtaza Khan, during the upcoming hearing.
