Imran Khan’s Rise Sparks Crackdown: Dr. Moeed Pirzada Slams ‘Political Witch Hunt’ by Pakistani Regime

In a recent interview with Katie Halper, Dr. Moeed Pirzada discussed the ongoing legal cases against former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, asserting that these cases are entirely politically motivated. Pirzada argued that the Pakistani military regime fears Khan’s rising popularity and influence.

Pirzada emphasized the unusual nature of the legal proceedings, questioning, “Where in the world can you bring a case against a man who is 70 years old and a woman who is 50 years old, claiming they married against religious injunctions? Only in Pakistan, where such a situation exists.”

He further stated that all these cases are driven by political motives, highlighting Khan’s recent electoral success. “He won the last elections single-handedly from jail,” Pirzada added, suggesting that the legal actions are an attempt to weaken Khan’s political standing.
